Public Sector

The U.S. Federal Government is the nation's single largest user of information technology. As such, it is incumbent on government agencies to streamline the procurement of information technology in a manner that assures taxpayer dollars are spent efficiently and effectively; to concentrate the power of information technology so as to strengthen American defense, intelligence and homeland security operations; and to utilize information technology in a manner that delivers more and better government services to citizens. Progress means better management and accountability, the collapsing of stove-piped systems for greater government-wide information sharing, and an expanded emphasis on e-government for service delivery. The Federal marketplace is also very complex, where legislative and regulatory issues impact key business decisions. Congressional action, agency decisions, and regulatory rulings all impact business. ITAA cuts through these levels to provide focused information on the key policy issues affecting the vendors' bottom lines.
